I do not think that anyone of good, cheap and reliable toasters anymore. I've tried a few cheap toasters and toaster ovens today-my 20-yr-old toaster oven quit working, but none of them toasted evenly, accurately, and consistently. Someone bought this model for the kitchen, where I work, and I noticed, people routinely go and not complain, so I bought one from Amazon. It works better than others I've tried in the sense that it is consistent in relation to the setting temperature, but, unfortunately, it is incompatible with equality. This means that when you toast English muffins, muffin deepest part of the slot gets toasted faster then the top of the nearest part of the socket opening. So I deliberately set the temperature to a lower setting, and then rebound muffins and toast them for a second time, so that they are evenly toasted – and the same for bread. However, usually toast bagels evenly in a single cycle. I did not want any toast frozen items, so I can not comment on the setting.
From the day I bought it, do not stay in the lever down. It just does not work, period. I had to physically hold him to get a piece of toast. Oster called and sent me to another without any charges. They told me to cut off the first and put it in the trash. The replacement arrived quickly (this is the only right thing to do, I will speak for Oster), but ended not working either. It worked for a few months, but then the same … leverage was not down. Oster has a serious problem with the design and / or quality control. Unfortunately for them, I am not going to bother giving them another chance. I now have an excellent and Kitchenaid Oster toaster is designed for use in target practice, the next time I go to the country. It'll make a fine if the purpose of expensive … certainly is cheap toaster.
I bought this toaster six months ago and never had a decent piece of toast with it. One side was bent, so the bread gets caught. On the other hand, only the lower half of the bread toasts. Leverage does not seem to hold, where it should. And today, it CAUGHT ON FIRE! I would like to give it zero stars, but it is not an option here. Goodbye, Toaster. Goodbye forever, whatever the Oster!
We bought it about 6 months ago and it stopped working about a week ago. Pop-up mechanism is very fragile. Sometimes toast brought up when the cycle is complete, and sometimes not. We will be looking for another brand next time. Very disappointing.
I was looking for a toaster to toast Oversize thick slices of bread and bagels, and this fits the bill well. Unfortunately, the device was defective and I have a spring mechanism (the one that holds the bread down) broke out after three weeks of use. One e-mail to Amazon for a replacement was sent within a few hours, and the new unit has not given me any problems. Cheers to Oster and Amazon.com!
