It is much harder to use than hand crank models, and produces a pathetic little pile of grated cheese. I am surprised by Kitchen Aid does not recall the product. I paid $ 8 for it, and may spend $ 3 gas back to him. I should have checked Amazon ratings before buying. When someone on the cheese grater that works!
Bought one of these in my search for a good cheese grater to replace my sadly inadequate Kitchenaid KG301 rotating model (see opinion on this before buying … they capture well the problems). After using this once, you have to ask: "What were thinking?" The cutting discs can fit into the device on both sides but only one way of cutting, is difficult to drive the line properly in the unit, and honestly, and not cut my main use of Parmigiano Reggiano … almost to powder. Worse, the road needed to hand grate is well, say, a pepper mill in which only a small amount is needed. For this purpose, repetitive twisting and small yield would be unacceptable. For those of you who like me and love perfect and unbeaten Kitchenaid stand mixers, rotary grater, and the device are not anywhere near the same quality and relevance of the league. Another cheese grater no value for me.
